REVIEWS

quote This is my first time here, and I love it! I’ve never tried Afghan food before, and this place really impressed me. The dumplings were flavorful—the marinated meat filling had a nice hint of herbs. I ordered the chicken kebab, and the chicken was tender and juicy, with a delicious marinade. The rice was soft, light, and fluffy. The dipping sauce was great. The portions were huge—I couldn’t finish everything! I also had the marinated lamb kabab, which was equally delicious. I tried their special ice cream, which had a unique flavor I had never tasted before. I didn’t love it, but it wasn’t bad either. The serving was quite large—definitely enough for two people. Overall, I really like this place and highly recommend it! The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the prices aren’t too expensive (around $20-$40+), but the quality is excellent. I’ll definitely come back!

quote We dropped in after hearing hype from a few local area Facebook groups & im here to tell you that it was extraordinary!!!! The food was next level good and the portions are huge. We got a platter for that would have fed 3 easily, but we pushed through and got it done. 😂 All in all, go try this place, you cannot go wrong. Relatively inexpensive considering the portion size too.

quote A nice, what looks like, family-owned establishment. As someone who was going in completely blind to Afghan food and culture, I was impressed with the food. Must have for anyone wanting to experience something different — and those who like their meat and rice. I’m keen to go back to try more!

quote I had a positive experience at Karwan and would like to share some insights. The mixed grill was impressive, perfectly cooked with a nice depth of flavour. The naan was delightful, served fresh and hot, which added to the overall meal. The chicken karahi was also very good; it had a nice balance of spices and was tender. The service was friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. I believe this restaurant is a great choice for anyone looking for authentic Afghan cuisine. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

quote The first time we ate here we arrived at 18:50 our time was kind of spoiled by a table of 9 loud individuals who didn't care of anyone else's time in the quaint restaurant to the point we were forced to speak loud ourselves in the relatively small space. Service was a singular individual run off their feet and for a Wednesday Night felt like it'd be nuts on a weekend. it took an hour to receive our mains. The complimentary chicken soup subsided any hunger for about half the wait time. And when they brought out the Naan bread with the mains I think I didn't take it quick enough so it was just dropped on my plate, basket and all! and off they ran. Food wise cannot sing any better praise than superbly cooked and perfectly presented though again we were practically forgotten and by the time we'd finished dinner. we were done waiting so skipped dessert just to get out of there. If we go back I'll be asking if there's going to be any large tables booked. Don't want to go through that again. The food definitely deserves a visit and the prices are really affordable so guess we'll give it another go later down the track.
