Karwan Afghan Restaurant

This was Great!! We did a simple dinner for 3. Informal gathering. Have not done Afghan food before.. and this was GREAT. Tasty food. Spicy interesting not spicy hot or burning. Lots of cool flavours. Loved it. Really enjoyed the meal and the very friendly service. This will get another visit soon. There is a lot on the menu I want to try. (The chicken kebab [lumps of chicken cooked on a stick] ) super tender and juicy… really very very good.

Moved from Sydney to the Gold Coast 6 years ago & have not yet enjoyed an authentic meal like we did tonight! Beautiful little family restaurant & the food was devine. Will definitely make the trip again to eat here.

We had a wonderful time here and really enjoyed the incredible food. The staff was a lovely young man who was very polite and respectful, especially to my mother in law. Our food came out quickly, we could smell it cooking, and there were amazing smells coming from the kitchen! The complimentary corn soup was a delightful surprise. Every dish was delicious; fresh and high quality. We had to take some away, we ordered too much and we stuffed ourselves full! Highly recommend this little family restaurant. They have gone to a lot of effort with the way they set the tables and made the interior welcoming, with Afghani photographs and other little touches. Also enjoyed the traditional music, added to the atmosphere. We really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely become regulars. We are so happy there is somewhere so great to dine on the Northside. A huge thank you to the restaurant for all of your effort and hospitality.

We shared a Karwan Mixed Plate for 4, what an amazing feast! Everything was delicious, perfectly spiced, marinated, and grilled to perfection. The platter was a perfect way to experience the various types of kebab. They have great naan and chicken sabzi curry too. The staff were lovely and and the quality and size of the dishes are well worth the price. We went on a Friday evening and it was quite busy but not a long wait for food, it's clear this place is popular. We'll be back for sure

Fantastic place for a snack or full fledged dining experience. Fair pricing for the food mountain that u receive! Packed with flavour n freshness! I wouldnt definitely recommend the mixed grill platter… soo worth it! The dessert are pricey for what they have to offer. PS: - Please dim the lights a little bit .. its tooo bright - Please give tongs and serviettes along with the platters. - It would be amazing if they served rice with their HSP. - Shout out to Sharvi for being an amazing server, extremely polite and always smiling :)
